Matt & Jessie’s beautiful barn wedding in Ottawa last September was one for the books!!! What a day this was!
First of all, the location! They used a friend’s farm property and it was absolutely breathtaking. The ceremony took place outdoors with fields in the background, cocktail hour took place amongst silos and the dinner was in the barn. The weather was fantastic and it just made for such a fun, feel good day!
Matt & Jessie had been together for eleven (!!!) years by time they got married. (The original plan was to get married on their ten-year anniversary but we all know that 2021 brought it’s own challenges for wedding planning, so 2022 it was!!) I’ve known Jessie since we were teens, and I remember her telling me that she had just started dating Matt, so this was a special day to photograph them getting married having known them since the beginning.
Matt & Jessie decided to take most of their photos before the ceremony so they would have time to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests. And that was honestly the best decision for them. The cocktail hour was *incredible*. The barn buildings, with the sun setting behind them, the lawn games, the OYSTER bar (hello!), the DJ was playing fabulous tunes. Ah, it was just a great day.
And then it was off to the barn for dinner and dancing. The decor in the barn was jaw dropping. Everything came together beautifully. And the food!! Oh man these two knocked it out of the park with their catering choices. The food at this wedding was a 10/10 and beyond!
I just loved this day. A truly beautiful barn wedding it was!! And I say it all the time, but how did I get so lucky?!!
