A few different months, years, venues, and guest counts later and Nick & Lindsay’s beautiful summer backyard wedding here in Ottawa was perfection!! Originally planning to tie the knot in 2020, they then discussed moving it back to 2022 to ensure that their overseas guests could make it, before deciding to scrap the original plan and have a small, intimate, backyard wedding at Nick’s parent’s house in 2021. And oh my goodness, I’d say things worked out just as they were meant to!
Lindsay got ready at her parents house with some of her very best friends there to hang out and laugh with her. It was fun and light-hearted and there was no rushing around, it was such a nice way to start the day. After slipping into her dress, Lindsay was off to meet Nick and take their photos together ahead of the ceremony. The neighbour across the street from Nick’s parent’s had a long, beautiful, tree-lined driveway that Nick & Lindsay were going to use for their first look. It was lovely, and private, and just very sweet.
Next they were all set for their backyard ceremony. They had a livestream going for family and friends who couldn’t be there to watch, and afterwards they shared a few FaceTime chats with family, popped champagne and raised a toast.
They spent the rest of the afternoon and evening mingling, chatting, eating, toasting, laughing, and hanging out together. A few more friends joined the backyard celebrations after dinner, and it really was a beautiful day!
I love me some backyard weddings, no doubt about it!
