It’s here! My annual favourite moments slideshow. I always have SO much fun putting this together. 1 minute and 58 seconds of joy that is my “Best of 2019 – Ottawa Wedding Photographer” video. Pro tip: watch in HD, full screen, and with the sound on. Feeeeels 🖤.
2019 was my fifth year of shooting weddings, but my first full calendar year as a full-time, self-employed entrepreneur. I edited 20,000 images, got super sick in the days leading up to a double-header weekend (that was rough), teared up during way too many ceremonies, speeches and father-daughter dances, and had six massages to get me through the season lol. I worked with absolutely amazing vendors, photographed small and intimate celebrations, and a massive – yet so cozy and personal – backyard wedding. We took photos in the rain, in the blazing hot sun, in a snowstorm, and in the most gorgeous fall colours. I got to photograph at new venues, and go back to old favourites. I photographed a city hall elopement, a gorgeous surprise wedding, and so many in-between. I laughed with brides and grooms, wedding parties, family members, and guests. I ate delicious food, and went to bed exhausted and yet oh-so-happy after every wedding. This year I was welcomed into childhood family homes, and received many ‘a hugs and thank-yous. And those are always what mean the most to me.
I say it all the time, but this job is a true joy and such an honour. Like I get to capture these precious memories for people, and that just hardly seems real to me. My hope is always that my couples and their families will cherish their photographs for (literal) generations to come. Thankful and grateful and not taking any of this for granted.
And if you want a closer look, the photos are included below as well (but the video is better, if I do say so myself aha).
And there you have it. My “best of 2019 – ottawa wedding photographer” slideshow. I hope it made you smile. Want to see last year’s video? You can find it here.
Thanks again, looking so forward to the 2020 wedding season!
