08-18-18. August 18th was one of the most popular wedding dates this year, and I got to spend the day with Mark & Tory at their Carleton Golf & Yacht Club wedding. And it was splendid!!
The sun shone the entire day, the tears flowed during their first look, the ceremony went off without a hitch, Mark got to drive a golf cart for the first time, the venue looked amazing, the speeches came from the heart, and there were plenty more happy tears to go around. Mark & Tory were surrounded by the most supportive and loving family and friends the entire day and it was so beautiful. It was obvious how happy and in love these two are, and it was a joy to photograph. Check out their Carleton Golf & Yacht Club Wedding below!
Morning Prep
Mark & his groomsmen started their day at their Airbnb in Manotick relaxing and joking around as they got ready for the day.
Tory and the ladies were getting ready at her aunt’s house. There were plenty of mimosas and chocolate covered strawberries to go around. And after the makeup was finalized, the dresses were done up. Speaking of dresses, Tory’s gown was breathtaking. Honestly the detail and the train were so stunning, I was in awe.
First Look
Mark & Tory knew from the very beginning that they wanted to do a first look. They knew it was going to be emotional and they preferred to have that moment to themselves. This way, they could be present and soak up the moment. It was perfect for them and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t choking up behind the camera watching Mark’s reaction. First looks are a personal preference, but every bride and groom I’ve ever photographed who did a first look said that it was the best decision! Wedding days are busy, and there aren’t a ton of opportunities for quiet moments between the two of you. So a first look is a perfect chance to spend some time together before the busyness of the day takes over.
Ceremony
Mark & Tory were married at their local parish, St. Leonard Church in Manotick.
Portraits & Reception
After the ceremony we were back to Carleton Golf & Yacht club for some portraits and the reception. Check out this wedding party, they were a blast to work with!!
After the first course, Mark & Tory snuck away for some sunset portraits and a few more quiet moments together before heading in for the rest of the evening.
Thank you for having me, Mark & Tory. Your Carleton Golf & Yacht Club Wedding was absolutely beautiful and I was so happy to be there.
