Riley & Alison’s fall wedding at Strathmere Garden House was just *magic*.
The day started at Riley’s parents house as the wedding party got ready together. There was a little music, fussing with bowties and suspenders, a quick drink, and a few subtle dance moves. Then we were off to Strathmere for a few photos of Riley and his wedding party, before I popped over to see Alison getting ready with her wedding party!
Riley & Alison decided to do a ‘back-to-back’ first look so they could have a moment together before the ceremony, without actually seeing each other until the start of the ceremony. So Riley waited out in the garden area, while Alison walked out. They had their backs leaned up together and held hands while talking to each other and oh my goodness it was so emotional and beautiful. Some deep breaths together, and then it was go-time.
Guests were seated outdoors at Strathmere’s Garden House, and the second the doors opened and Alison started walking down the aisle with her dad, it was emotional. There was laughter and tears and handwritten vows and rain. I lowkey loved when it started raining and everyone snuggled up under blankets and umbrellas together – it’s just such a sweet moment!
The rain didn’t last long and the rest of the ceremony was beautiful! Afterwards everyone headed for the warmth indoors while we finished up the rest of the photos. The rain picked up again so we were able to use the building next door for some photos inside out of the rain. And as dusk set in and we were heading back to the Garden House for the reception, we snuck a few more photos of Riley & Alison in in the garden area. It was perfect, with fallen leaves surrounding them and some pretty blue hour lighting.
This was my last wedding of the 2021 season and it was a perfect way to finish off a wonderful year! A fall wedding at one of my favourite venues, with the loveliest of people! (And Strathmere is always a good time!)
Thank you Riley & Alison!
