Nothing Fancy, Just Love.
Caleb and Claire had the most beautiful intimate wedding ceremony in Ottawa. It seriously felt like a dream. They chose a beautiful church (Our Lady of the Visitation in Greely) and they asked two of their best friends to be their witnesses, and that was it. Just the four of them celebrating. It was so special.
The church is absolutely stunning. There’s something about the empty pews that really highlight the love between Caleb and Claire. The focus is entirely on the two of them. They walked down the aisle together, followed by an emotional and intimate ceremony. Truly so beautiful.
Now, I’m not kidding when I say it poured rain all day. So after the ceremony we stole a few minutes and Caleb and Claire danced in the aisle of the empty church. The priest even played some music for them. It was my favourite part of the day. My favourite part of any wedding day is always when a couple has time to themselves to just be together and soak in what is happening. Which is exactly what this wedding was all about.
This group was amazing and embraced the weather as we attempted some outdoor photos in the rain. Tons of laughter, fumbling with broken umbrellas, and splashing through puddles!
Later in the evening, they hit up the Byward Market for a dinner as just the four of them. What a perfect day, if I do say! I saw a quote once that read: “nothing fancy, just love”. And this wedding reminded me of that quote. No floral arrangements, no seating charts, no fancy reception … just love. And it was seriously beautiful.
