Shima and Cory had a beautiful intimate wedding ceremony at MacKenzie King Estate in the Gatineau Hills. It was early October, the trees were vibrant, and the light was delicious. They had a small gathering of their closest family and friends who couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with them. Cory’s father officiated the ceremony, and his aunt was their witness. Shima’s family is out of the country, but were watching via FaceTime. They said their vows, exchanged rings, popped open some beverages, and enjoyed the company. They took some portraits in the beautiful golden light. And then they were off to a restaurant in the Byward Market for dinner with their guests. How perfect is that?! It was beautiful and heartfelt.
This is my jam. I love couples who do things their own way. If you don’t want a big traditional wedding, don’t have one. And if you do want one, than all the power to you, it’s your day – you do you! I definitely relate to people who want to do things on a smaller scale. Who want their wedding to be a little less formal, and a little more low-key. I totally get it; the smaller, more intimate celebrations. I love the feel and the pace of the day.
I love the big weddings, don’t get me wrong. But there is just something special about the small intimate ones that tugs at my heart strings. The introvert in me really loves them.
