Andrew & Andrea had a Mer Bleue engagement session a couple of weeks ago and it was so beautiful. Except for the mosquitoes. The mosquitoes were horrible. I cannot even tell you how many little buggers I had to edit out of their photos afterwards. I felt bad for days thinking of all of the bug bites these two endured for their engagement session. Eek! Anyways, I like to think it was all worth it in the end. We had the place to ourselves, and the golden hour light was just right. You never know what you’re going to get during golden hour. Sometimes it’s completely overcast and you don’t get any “gold” light. Othertimes you get an epic sunset. But regardless, the light is always nice later in the evening and it’s always worth taking a chance!
If you’ve never been to the Mer Bleue Bog in Ottawa I definitely recommend it. There’s a beautiful boardwalk, it’s so calm and serene and you can see all sorts of different wildlife out there. And it makes for a beautiful photo location, too.
I had a lovely time walking around and laughing with these two, and I’m looking so forward to their wedding later this summer. If this Mer Bleue engagement session was any indication, their wedding day is going to be a blast!
