Matt and Rach, the couple most determined to make their wedding work in the midst of a global pandemic. My hats off to them, they went through SO much to be able to have this day. And it was s-t-u-n-n-i-n-g! More than anything, I remember the overwhelming happiness that despite the circumstances beyond their control, they made it happen. Their late summer wedding at the National Arts Centre in downtown Ottawa was absolutely spectacular.
Multiple backup dates, spreadsheets, vendor availability, and changes to their wedding plans. Through it all, Matt and Rach were nothing but gracious, kind, and understanding. I am still blown away at how organized they were, and how they pushed forward through all of the setbacks. At the end of the day, they just wanted to get married. And they did everything they had to do to ensure their guests and their vendors were safe.
Their ceremony was originally meant to take place inside the Al Zaibak Lantern Room, but they moved it to the cedar deck in order to ensure for social distancing. I have to admit I was excited when they told me about this change of plans. I mean, the Lantern Room is gorgeous, don’t get me wrong. But I could just imagine that view from the deck in the late afternoon and I knew it was going to be magic. And you guys, I cannot. Breathtaking.
My words will never do this day justice. So I will let the photos speak for themselves. It was warm, and sunny, and full of love. And if two people deserved this for their wedding day, it was Matt & Rach.
