Mike & Andie’s summer Strathmere wedding was one for the books. The most beautiful, relaxed and easy-going couple. It was one of the most chill wedding days I have ever photographed. And chill is my vibe. I love it.
I first arrived at the groom’s childhood home to find the guys getting dressed and cracking jokes with one another, helping each other with their ties (as they do). A little shot of something to help calm the nerves and some cigars out on the back deck. It was the perfect start to their wedding day.
Next I was off to Mike & Andie’s home (which is beautiful, and a dream to photograph in) where the girls were getting ready. It was calm and zen as the ladies relaxed in their robes. There was no rushing or panicking, just laughter and hugs all around. Andie had a first look with her father that was really sweet; he was waiting in the living room and she came down the stairs all dressed up and ugh, it was perfect. Next, Andie’s bridesmaids came down to see her in her dress and their reactions were so beautiful. Bridemaids goals for sure. This group of girls was so loving and supportive, not to mention stunning.
Ceremony & Reception
Then we were off to Strathmere! It was a perfect June day, the sun was shining and the flowers blooming. Family and friends greeted one another and settled in at The Lodge for the start of the ceremony. Mike & Andie didn’t have a first look, so seeing Mike’s reaction to Andie walking down the aisle was so beautiful and heartfelt. And Andie’s cathedral length veil blew in the wind throughout the ceremony – my heart!
And honestly, the rest of the day was just as beautiful. So much laughter. Their friends and family are just the loveliest people. The speeches were nothing short of hilarious and it was truly a wonderful celebration of love and family. These weddings are exactly why I do what I do. They are the best days, and you can feel the love and support surrounding everyone and it is such a joy to document and capture these memories.
