Curtis & Kaitlyn’s wedding at The Grand Hotel in Carleton Place was sooo much fun. It *almost* felt like a wedding during non-global-pandemic times. (You know, except for the limited guest list, hand sanitizer, masks, social distancing, etc. ahah). But it just had that feel to it. Made my heart so happy. The guest list was mostly family, Kaitlyn’s maid of honour couldn’t travel to be there so she gave an absolutely beautiful speech virtually, and there were happy tears from Kaitlyn & Curtis, and many others throughout the day. Just one of those feel good wedding days that make me oh-so-grateful for this job.
This was my first wedding at The Grand Hotel and oh what a treat it was. The ladies got ready in the bridal suite, and the gentlemen just down the hall. Curtis & Kaitlyn exchanged letters before the ceremony and it was so emotional for both. When it was time for the ceremony, live music played as guests were seated and Kaitlyn and her father walked down the aisle. More happy tears (a theme throughout the day lol) and they were husband and wife! After some post-ceremony congratulations we were off to a local park for photos.
Dinner was absolutely incredible. The food at The Grand is next level delicious. The chef even came out to let everyone know about the main course, so nice! After dinner and speeches, Kaitlyn & Curtis shared their first dance, and it was the perfect way to end the evening.
Pandemic weddings have certainly had their challenges, but at the end of the day, they are oh-so-beautiful.
