Don and Emilie’s winter engagement session in Manotick was amazing! We had to postpone a few times because of freezing rain and downright miserable weather. But the weather gods were on our side for this New Year’s Eve engagement session. With a perfect light snowfall, and mild enough temperatures, we had a great time!
Don and Emilie chose Manotick, a small town south of Ottawa, as their location. We started at the beautiful and historic Watson’s Mill on the Rideau River. So much history at that site, and everyone who is familiar with the south end of the city, knows Watson’s Mill! After the mill, we went to an abandoned home at Nicolls Island. It started snowing as we arrived; it was so pretty. If it’s not 40 below, winter engagement sessions can be really beautiful. I am so glad we stuck with it!
With a cozy blanket, winter boots, and cute mittens, we set out! We wandered around, laughed, talked about wedding plans, and snapped some really cute photos. All around, it was a great way to spend New Year’s Eve day. We basically spent the entire afternoon laughing. These two were naturals and I am already looking forward to their October wedding. I just know it will be beautiful!
